It would be really cool if the pdf was saved by default to the very same folder in which the original document is stored.

Hello Lomeli,
Good suggestion. However, because the PDF files are created via the printer, the location of the original file is not sent to the printer, so there is no way for me to find out where the original file came from.
I wish I could do what you ask, but I don't think it will be possible.
Best regards,

Maybe using date as the folder name could help people easily find the original and print directory?

I would tend to agree with the first suggestion, but as Michel explains, it's not possible because of the way the PDF is created (via pseudo printer). However, in recent versions of PDF reDirect, there's a drop down list of the most recently used folders which works for me as an alternative (it's not perfect for what the OP wants, but it works for me as a substitute most of the time).
Tip: to find the list of most recently used folders, click on the "Folders" button (top left)
reDirect also remembers the folder that you most recently used, so once you've created a PDF in a folder once, if you print again, it'll save to the folder that you've just used. Pretty well covers most things.

Hi Allan,
Good point.
For those that use the "freeware" version, the dropdown near the "folders" is not there (it is a "Pro" feature), but there is a similar one in the Filenames box. This one is not quite as capable, and recovers old filenames as well which may not be what was wanted, so you may need to retype the intended filename.
Cheers!
