Thought I posted this yesterday. Here it is again, with new color problem.

I just downloaded PDR redirect pro and then restarted computer. Have Win XP.

1. Created PDF from a .doc file. and set security to not allow Printing or Copying. But could print and copy resulting PDF file. Note the .doc file had color, and the PDF file had color -- no color problem here.

2. Created PDF file from html page, which had color background. Resulting PDF file was black and white.

How can I solve these problems?

Hi there,

Sorry to hear of the difficulties. Hopefully we'll get them sorted out.
  • When creating PDF files from web sites (html pages), the default setting for Microsoft Internet Explorer is not to print the colored backgrounds. You can change that setting by selecting in the menu "Tools", then "Internet options". In the window that appears, click on the "Advanced" tab, scroll down to the "printing" options, and select "Print background colors and images". That should do it.
  • The PDF not locking is disconcerting. I have done another check, and it seemed to work fine for me (Click [ http://www.exp-systems.com/PDFreDirect/Download/Locked_Sample.pdf - here ] for a sample I created today). So, I am not sure what is causing the problem. Could you send me that file by e-mail at exp_[at]_exp-systems.com so that I can take a closer look? Also, can you confirm that you are running v2.1.10 or v2.1.11?

   Thanks!

Michel

Here is an update I received from Monty by e-mail.
  • The color issue was indeed the Internet Explorer setting described above.
  • The PDF not locking was a setting not set correctly. It's all OK now.
