Hello all,

I'm having an issue stamping some documents using PDF ReDirect Pro and I am hoping you will be able to help a bit or supply some insight to the situation.

The full error message is "An Error occurred.  The PDF File was not created properly."

This happens to a client, using Windows 7, when trying to stamp a pdf in a network drive folder, however other documents in the folder can be stamped, and moving the document to my desktop doesn't have any affect, so I have ruled out it being network drive/permissions related.

The document isn't read only, and this is the only message that pops up.

The only thig I have found that is different between this document and other stampable pdfs is that in the properties, under the description tab, the application and PDR Producer are listed as DPE Build 5095.

I have tried to change this by saving the document with Adobe PDF Pro "Save As", but the author and the application stay the same.

Can anyone please help if they know a way to change this or possibly make this and other siilar documents stampable, or provide some insight as to what causes this error message?  I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi,

It might just be that the PDF is malformed. My recommendation is to use "re-printing" - which will fix any errors in the PDF, and then, you will be able to add the stamp.

  1. Open your PDF in Adobe's PDF Reader
  2. Select to print, and choose to print to the PDF reDirect Pro printer.
  3. Now you can apply the stamp and save the file.

   Here is another alternative:

  1. Open PDF reDirect Pro
  2. Click the problem PDF once so that it appears in the Preview box (lower RHS).
  3. Click the small printer icon in the Preview header: this will use the built-in “print” feature to print the PDF back to PDF reDirect Pro.
  4. The recreated PDF file will appear in the Merge list
  5. Now you can apply the stamp and save the file.
   I hope this helps.
