Hello,
Canon and Xerox scanners (and a few older HP scanners) typically generate
"malformed" PDF files in particular. The scanned documents tree
contains an error which the PDF Reader accepts readily, but my PDF management
code generates an error, although I will have soon a new version which will be
far more tolerant of internal errors. For now, my recommendation is to "reprint"
your scanned PDF as follows, which will fix the problem:
1. Open your scan in Adobe's PDF Reader 2. Select to print, and choose to print to
the PDF reDirect printer.
3. Merge as required. Here is an alternative (if
you are using PDF reDirect Pro):
1.
Open PDF reDirect Pro
2.
Click the scanned PDF once so that it
appears in the Preview box (lower RHS).
3.
Click the small printer icon in the
Preview header: this will use the built-in “print” feature to print the scans
back to PDF reDirect Pro.
4.
The recreated PDF file will appear in
the Merge list
5.
Now you can then save or merge with
other files.
Here is final alternative:
1. Insert you document you wish to scan into your
scanner.
2. Using your scanner's software, select to
"Scan-to-print" or "send-to-printer" (or similar). if your
scanner does not have that feature, you can use the freeware program called
"iCarbon" which does the same thing. Here is a link:/span>
3. Select the PDF reDirect printer to create the PDF.
I hope this helps.
