Problem: Printing to PDFreDirect not working out of any print program.

This started yesterday when i was trying to print a 9 page file to PDF reDirect from WordPerfect.

I have re-downloaded the PDF professional and rebooted.

After this, I was able to get PDFreDirect to function properly and save the 9-page document as a PDF file.

But now, the problem has reoccurred.

I can launch PDFreDirect program directly if I do a window search for "pdf direct"

Hello Mark,

Can you describe the nature of the problem? Do you get an error code?

On rare occasion, the Windows Print Spooler loses its connection to the PDF reDirect printer. What that occurs, nothing happens when you try to print to the PDF reDirect printer.

To fix, you can either restart the Print spooler service, or simply do a reboot/restart - which will reset the connection. I have seen this happen on my PC when I use it for multiple days in a row without rebooting.

I hope this helps.

one work around seems to be to print to PDFreDirect, (even though the PDFreDirect window does not open), and then call up an independent window of pdfreDirect. This leaves a blank in the "file name" field, wherein I enter a file name and save it, and then print using the Adobe window that opens.

Hi,

Yes - I should have mentioned the work around, but not a great solution.

Have you tried a reboot to see if that makes a difference?

Please let me know if that does not fix the problem.

OK, thanks. I will do some additional research and testing, and will get back to you.

Are you using Windows 10?
