A big thank you to Xiaobai who developed a Simplified Chinese translation for the user interface for PDF reDirect. There are, however, a couple of caveats that you need to know before you use the Chinese version:

  • Your Windows username should not contain any Chinese characters, or else PDF reDirect will not work properly (the new PDF files will not appear.
  • It is OK to have Chinese characters inside the PDF.
  • You cannot have Chinese characters in the Path or the filename of the PDF. If you do, you will most likely get an error ("PDF not created")
  • PDF reDirect is a non-unicode program. Therefore, you will need to turn on compatibility for non-unicode programs in Windows 2000/XP (see the screenshot below).
  • A future version of PDF reDirect will add compatibility with unicode characters: this should fix all of these compatibility problems.
