Topic: Controlling PDF reDirect from Vista Posted: 28 Mar 09 at 8:21PM |
I found examples for Windows XP and earlier for controlling PDF reDirect programmatically from VBA in Word.
However, is the same VBA code supposed to work on Vista?
I need something that works on Vista and XP, preferably with no changes specific to one or the other. What I want to do is to print large Word documents to PDF programmatically from VBA code running in Excel.
Thanks, Alan

Dear Mr Thomas,
Thank you for your interest in PDF
reDirect.
Yes,
it should work. It's been a while, but I tested Vista32 and Vista64 with Office
2003 and 2007. You will need the ActiveX component and the sample VBA code
located [here]
You
will also need to use the "Pro" version of PDF reDirect. If you have the
Freeware version running, simply click the promo button, then choose "Activate
Pro Now" to switch to the Pro vesion (there is nothing extra that you need to
download).
Please make sure that the sample code works OK before modifying the
code.
Best regards,

Michel,
I understood that there was sample code, which comes with the software, that controls PDF printing remotely. However, I cannot locate it. Can you point me to it?
I would like to control PDF printing of Word documents from Excel. I tried to modify the Excel sample code, but I got an error: Excel is waiting for another application to modify OLE.

Hi,
The PDF reDirect Pro ActiveX component for programmers is explained [here]. That link will send you to an area where the download link is also provided. Cheers! Michel |
