Hi. I'm on a machine running Windows 7. I've downloaded the free version, and run the installer. The installer finishes and closes, but the readme doesn't open. I don't see PDF Redirect as an option to print in any apps, and when I search for "PDF Redirect" or "Redirect", my computer can't find the app. Any idea why it appears to install, but then it doesn't seem to be on my computer?!

Hi,
It's odd. But let's try this for now: do you have a new printer called "PDF reDirect v2" available in your list of printers? If so, open a Word document, then print it, and choose the PDF reDirect printer. Does the program start at that point?
If the new PDF reDirect printer is not there, then try to reboot the computer, and attempt the installation again.
I hope this helps,

I did not see the printer, so I rebooted and reinstalled. Still didn't work. Tried rebooting and reinstalling again, and it still didn't work. Any other suggestions?
I'm going to be so bummed if I can't get it to work. I used PDF reDirect all the time on my old machine!

Hi,
Thanks for trying.
When you run the installer, do you get any kind of error message? In particular, check for a text file that should have opened up with the installation log. That text file will only open if there was an error message.
You can also look for it manually in the same folder where the installer is located. It will be called: Installation_Error_Log.txt.
If you do find that file, please send me a copy to my e-mail address here: exp (at) exp-systems (dot) com.
If the file is not there, then try the following:
1. Right-click on the installer program 2. Choose "Run as administrator" 3. Enter the administrator's password as requested 4. Complete the installation
Hopefully this will do the trick for you.

I wasn't receiving an error log or error message of any sort. I tried running as an administrator and it did the trick! I also kind of want to kick myself for not trying that earlier. Oh well! Thanks for your help!

No worries. I'm glad that it worked out.
Here is the explanation: PDF reDirect installs a (virtual) printer, and therefore, admin privileges are required to complete the installation.
Cheers!
