Hi.

I'm using last version (2.2.8) of PDF Redirect Professional, and I have the following problem: After print an image or scanned document in PDF Redirect, if the file is joined or merged with another PDF file, the final document opens in any page, but not the first page.

That is to say:

1) The Image or scanned document is printed from Imaging Windows Viewing in 1.pdf (1 page)
2) The document to merge is called 2.pdf (1 page)
3) The merge of 1.pdf and 2.pdf is called 3.pdf (2 pages)
4) 3.pdf opens in second page, not in first.

I have try many ways to solve it, but wasn't possible.

My system is Vista Ultimate x64.

Any ideas?

CARLOS V.

Hi Carlos,

It definitely sounds like a bug. I will investigate the problem later today, and get back to you.

   Best regards,

Hi,

Unfortunately, it is working for me. Can you send me two sample files (before merging) that have the problem when merged to see if I can duplicate the problem with your files?

You can send to exp -at- exp-systems -dot- com.

   Thanks!

Hi,

There is an aditional detail, the picture must be modified with Page Rotation option, I.E. 180 upside down.

Then take the two files, with the picture first. If this don't work, I will send you two files to test.

Best regards.

Hi,

Sigh. No joy: it's still working OK for me.

Please go ahead and send me the files as follows:

   1. Print both files.
   2. Leave PDF reDirect Pro open. Do not click the "Save" button.
   3. Open Windows Explorer and go to the following folder:
C:\Users\{USERNAME}\Application Data\Roaming\PDF reDirect\Temp

   4. In there, find the two printer output Postscript files which will be named something like "0000152436.ps" (numbers will not match). These are the two files I need. If they are really large, please zip them before e-mailing them to me.

   5. Go back to PDF reDirect Pro, and Save into the PDF that has the problem, and send me a copy of that too.

That will help, I am sure.

Of note: I am currently on a business trip, and I have Windows 2000 on the laptop. So you may want to wait until I return to the office so that I can try again with my Vista64 test machine.

Also: I made a guess at the path given at step 3, going back by memory. If you can't see the folders, ensure that you select the "show hidden files and foldes" option in Windows Explorer. If you still can't find the folder, let me know.

   Best regards,

Hi.

I have received the files. Thank you.

I am not sure how to say this, but it seems to be working for me. Perhaps it's a convention problem. What I mean is that the program assumes that in the Merge List, the top document is the 1st page, and the next document is the 2nd page. Do you think that might be the problem?

Apart from that: you asked about the rotation setting being applied to all of the printer output files in the merge list. Yes, I agree with you that this is less than ideal, and I have fixed this in the next v2.3.0 version which will be out soon. In that version, each file can be set independently of the others.

   Best regards,

Michel,

I'll wait for the 2.3.0 version. Maybe the rotation page option per file, fix the problem.

Thanks for your support.

Best Regards.

Ok. Sounds good. It should be available as a "beta" in 2 to 3 weeks. The beta version will be v2.2.903 or v2.2.904 depending on how my internal testing works out.

Cheers!

Michel
