Topic: really need Adobe reader? Posted: 16 Jun 09 at 10:39PM |
I'm a newbie as of today. Noticed before installing reDirect, it says I need Adobe reader for viewing the PDF. Is there any reader alternative? I already had Foxit 3 installed and wonder if that's as functional for viewing as Adobe's?
Also, I noticed the EULA references use of parts of Foxit, so is Foxit itself needed? (I'd rather keep Foxit in than Adobe reader.) Thanks! The reDirect looks like a great program--tried an Excel file for a test. |

Hello David,
Sure! The Fox It Reader is a great alternative to Adobe's PDF Reader. It is small, easy to install, and runs very quickly. Indeed, I was so impressed that I purchased the distribution rights and integrated their rendering technology into PDF reDirect to generate the "preview" of the PDF as it is being created. However, you do not need their viewer installed to use PDF reDirect. Thanks for your kind remarks about PDF reDirect. Cheers! |
