EXP Systems Forum: Can't print BW from Color PDF

   Hello:
I try to print a PDF with color from Adobe Reader 8.1.2 follow below steps
click print button
click properties button
click Black/White check box in the "paper/quality" tab
click OK, OK to activate PDF reDirect V2.2.8
The output is still in color.

I can get B/W from other Microsoft applications just not Adobe Reader.

Could somebody help?

	Hi, Yes, you are right. There seems to be a problem with Adobe Reader. I tried an older version (v5.0.5) and the same problem occured too. However, all other programs I tried (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Firefox) printed in B&W correctly. I was able to confirm that the problem also occure when using Adobe's own PDF converter (distiller). I have searched the internet and Adobe's Support site, and I was unable to find a fix for this. And then, even when I choose my B&W Laser output, Adobe's Reader shows a Color Preview! It really looks like Adobe is ignoring this printer setting. The only thing I could offer would be for me to add conversion code to convert the color output to Black & White in a future version of PDF reDirect. I think the next step is to ask Adobe. I don't understand why they are ignoring this printer setting.
